Internet/ World Wide Web/ Bluetooth/ Wi-Fi

 Internet and  World Wide Web
The Internet is what makes communication online and finding information possible. It is the connection needed to make searches on the World Wide Web. The Internet was not just created by one person, however, Vinton Cerf and Bob Kahn are the people who created TCP/IP, the technology used to organize and move data. Vinton Cerf created the word internet, and with their discoveries, we would not have the internet. In 1965 the first use of a computer network was used when Lawrence Roberts made computers communicate with each other without being in the same location.
The World Wide Web was invented by Tim Berners-Lee in 1989. The World Wide Web is all of the websites and information you get from using the internet. Its intended use and purpose was a place where you could access all of the websites (hypertext documents) by different computers. Now it is used by essentially everybody to access the news, media, images, and anything you see when you access the internet.
The Internet and the World Wide Web are not the same, although, they work together. Once you connect to the internet you can access the World Wide Web to search anything you want. The internet establishes the connection between servers and other devices to allow you to begin your search.
On August 6, 1991, the first ever website created was called info.cern.ch. It was made by CERN, the same company that employed the creator of the World Wide Web. In 2013 the first ever website was restored so you can still access it.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and Lamarr
Hedy Lamarr was an Austrian actress who collaborated with George Antheil on the idea of frequency hopping. They introduced the system to the Navy and even filed a patent. Because of the Navy's decision to not use their system, they let the patent expire. This idea of Hedy Lamarr led to the invention of GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. On June 9th Johnny Depp and Jeff Beck wrote an ode to Hedy Lamarr because her story resonated with Depp's life story.
Bluetooth was created in a meeting with Intel, Ericsson, and Nokia in 1996. In this meeting, they developed a standardized short-range connectivity. Jim Kardach came up with a name for the connection 'Bluetooth', but it was only meant to be a temporary name. It was named after King Harald Bluetooth who united Scandinavia which symbolized how Bluetooth unites wirelessly and in short range. The logo is the initials of Harald Bluetooth combined in Norse runic.
Wi-Fi was the product of multiple inventors working off of previous inventions. After. Hedy Lamarr and George Antheils' invention of hopping frequencies, Vic Hayes invented a global standard wireless networking, then Dr. John O'Sullivan limited the echo that radiowaves give off. Wi-Fi was originally named WaveLAN by ALOHAnet in 1971. In 1999, they trademarked it as Wi-Fi as a spinoff of the word hi-fi.
